A moment of light

Arras, France

Sound, light, and video mapping on the occasion of the centenary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge (1917-2017)

A few seconds that make a difference in our day, in our lives, in our country. These three seconds are at the heart of an immersive multimedia experience, designed for the Place des Héros in Arras, France. The video mapping takes place on three sides of the square and across the entire Belfry. Thanks to a team of 10 animators, an original orchestral score, two choirs, and 24 video projectors totaling 60 million pixels (nearly as many as there are French citizens!), we offered our spectators a moment of light. The production was generously gifted to the city by the Canadian Department of Veterans Affairs. The Synopsis A small memory box is all it took for Jeanne to convince Patrick and Richard to cross the Atlantic and join her in Arras. They find themselves in the region where their great-grandfathers fought alongside each other 100 years earlier during the Battle of Vimy. Together, our three friends want to dive into the past and pay tribute to their ancestors, but they do not know that what they are about to discover will mark them forever.
