The discovery of the NōKs

The NōKs is an immersive and interactive artistic project deployed in various forms.
This version took place in a park in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec. The exhibition transformed the public space into a territory to be explored, where visitors could discover the existence of the NōKS, a small fictional colony living in symbiosis with nature. The project blends art, science, and storytelling to offer a sensitive, educational, and accessible experience for everyone.
A PARK-SCALE IMMERSION
The entire park is taken over by a continuous light scenography and an original sound atmosphere. The lights guide the walk and connect the different installations, while a musical composition inspired by the universe and language of the NōKs accompanies visitors throughout the journey.
About ten large artificial trees, built to life size using an eco-design method, are distributed throughout the park. Initially created for a previous exhibition, they have been reinstalled and adapted for this project. Some trees are open and can be observed from the inside, revealing different scenes from the life of the NōKs: holograms of rituals, bioluminescent gardens made of mushrooms and salvaged objects, or even dwellings made of kombucha leather.
