The Art of Alex Janvier
“Creativity has always been and it's always will be from the sound of the birds chirping, from the land, the sky, water, mountains, prairie, animals, and people.” Alex Janvier
Immerse yourself in a vibrant universe of fluid colors, connecting our minds to the cosmos and all of creation through the art of the late Alex Janvier (1935–2024). A pioneering figure of contemporary Indigenous art, Janvier developed a unique visual language liberated from the aesthetic constraints of traditional galleries. True to his heritage and artistic vision, Soul Symphony – The Art of Alex Janvier frees his work so it can unfold and envelop the audience in a spectacular 360-degree immersive dome projection. Through an immersive narrative, movement, nature, art, and limitless imagination come together, accompanied by previously unreleased recordings of the great painter's voice. Hailing from the Cold Lake First Nations, on Treaty 6 territory, Janvier's work has always carried the perspective of a Denesuline man, reflecting his experiences, culture, and spirituality. His words and his art have touched audiences around the world, reminding us that we all belong to this planet and to one another.
